Senior Product Manager

Act as the link between the strategy, technology, and design teams to define the vision and roadmap of our products. Be the voice of the customer within the company, ensuring that our solutions generate maximum impact and that we are building the right product, in the right way, to solve real problems for our customers.


About the Role

As a Product Manager at UBC, you will be the 'CEO of the product', ultimately responsible for the definition of the vision, strategy, and execution of digital products. Your role includes market research, backlog management, and intense collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment and continuous value delivery.


Responsibilities

  1. Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
  2. Conduct research and discovery through customer interviews and market data analysis to identify pain points and valuable opportunities.
  3. Manage the product backlog, creating and prioritizing clear and detailed user stories for the development team.
  4. Act as the main point of contact between engineering, design (UX/UI), marketing, and strategy teams, ensuring effective alignment and collaboration.
  5. Lead or actively participate in agile ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  6. Define success KPIs, monitor performance after launches, and use data to guide decisions and future iterations.


Mandatory Qualifications

  1. Proven experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar role in digital product development.
  2. Deep knowledge and practice in agile methodologies, especially Scrum and Kanban.
  3. Familiarity with backlog management tools (Jira), documentation (Confluence), and prototyping (Figma, Miro).
  4. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Administration, or experience demonstrating the ability to dialogue with technical teams and understand business.

  2. Clear and effective communication for diverse audiences, from engineers to executives.
  3. Analytical and data-oriented thinking to support decisions and prioritizations.
  4. Deep empathy, with a focus on pain points, needs, and the end-user journey.
  5. Ability to prioritize and make difficult decisions in scenarios with limited resources.
